M Alexander von Humboldt

Alexander von Humboldt was a German polymath and explorer who conducted extensive scientific exploration across Latin America between 1799 and 1804. He was among the first to treat the Americas as a unified natural system and introduced concepts such as isotherms and ecological zonation. His writings greatly influenced scientific thought and the discipline of geography.
