Sébastien Simon is a promising French offshore sailor known for his determination and solid technical foundation. Born on March 16, 1990, in La Roche-sur-Yon, he trained as a naval engineer before transitioning into professional solo racing.
Simon won the Solitaire du Figaro in 2018 and quickly rose to the IMOCA class. His first Vendée Globe attempt in 2020–2021 was cut short due to damage to his foils and structure following a Southern Ocean storm, forcing him to abandon the race while in a competitive position.
