Jacques Piccard

Jacques Piccard was a Swiss oceanographer and engineer who co-designed and piloted the bathyscaphe Trieste with Don Walsh to reach the Challenger Deep in 1960, the deepest known point in Earth’s oceans. His pioneering work laid the foundation for modern deep-sea exploration and underwater engineering.
